August Reading Schedule

The Month of August I am participating on the High Summer Readathon hosted by Michelle Miller @ https://seasonsreading.blogspot.com/  Below is my reading schedule for the month of August.

My Ambitious Reading Schedule

Hello all you good people!

Lately I have been evaluating what is important to me, what I want to do in my life and how I want to spend my free time.  Let's face it.  There are literally hundreds of ways you can waste/spend your time in today's technologically advanced day and age. But for me, my love of reading has always had it's hooks in me.  Books, e-books, audio books, graphic novels, comics, magazines....what a great time to be alive!  Not to be a downer, but in reality, I have more time left behind me, than I do ahead of me.  Life can be cruel.  But let's not let that dictate how and what I do with my time.

Currently I am participating in a readathon titled High Summer Readathon.  If you haven't signed up yet, you still have plenty of time to do so.  It is a month long event!

I have also discovered the magic of one so-called Storygraph. It is a site like Goodreads, but it is oh so much better.  The feature I latched on to is called the Streak.  Once turned on, a default streak — one page (or one minute) per day, or longer — is created for you and a new streak flame icon will appear on the homepage. It's filled in when you've successfully met the requirements of your streak for that time period.  I am currently on a 32 day streak.  My humble fulfillment time is 40 pages, or one hour, (yes! You can track audio book time as well!)

Using this web platform has encouraged me to ensure I read a little bit every day.  I had built up a 7 day streak, and I wasn't going to stop there.  It is easy to use, and the book recommendations are spot on.  Try this lovely reading nugget.  You will not be disappointed.

Anyways, as I am jumping around, I have only come here to say that I have created my 40page/1 hour schedule which will take me into the end of June next year.  Every month I will upload the new schedule and let you know what readathon or other club I am joining along in.  This will also help me stay on track.  In the next post, I will share my August reading schedule for the \High Summer Readathon, and every month thereafter.  I hope you are able to follow along and watch/comment on my progress.  Stay safe and keep on reading!
